December 2004 - Radiology messages to be released in the MWHB

Healthlink have worked closely with the Radiology Department and the Primary Care Unit of the MWHB to develop a Radiology message extract from the IMS Radiology system in Limerick Regional Hospital. Testing is now in the final stages and a pilot is due for early 2005. The system will then be installed in St. Joseph's Hospital in Nenagh and also in Ennis General Hospital to ensure that all GPs in the region have the radiology messages available through Healthlink Online. One of the key benefits for the GPs is that the messages will appear in the unprocessed message view page without any changes required.


December 2004 - Healthlink Project well underway in the Eastern Regional Hospitals

A project team comprising of representatives from the NAHB, JCM Hospital, EHSS and Healthlink has been working on establishing Healthlink within the 3 regional health board hospitals in the Eastern Region. The first message to be developed will be the laboratory messages from James Connolly Memorial Hospital. The extract is now ready for installation in the hospitals laboratory and live testing will be undertaken later this year.


December 2004 - Temple Street Children's Hospital to utilise the services of Healthlink in 2005

GPs nationally who send patients to Temple Street Children's Hospital will be able to receive laboratory, radiology, discharge notification, discharge summary, death notification, out patient clinic notifications and A and E attendance via Healthlink Online in 2005.


May 2004 - National Healthlink Project nominated for E-Europe Award

The eEurope Awards recognise innovative initiatives in the areas of eGovernment and eHealth within Europe. 109 applications fulfilled the criteria and from those the National Healthlink Project was one of 11 shortlisted for an award in the category"eHealth administrative support tools and services for citizens". The nominees were required to exhibit at a high-level conference on eHealth which took place in Cork on 5-6 May. Click here to view the flash presentation displayed at the awards.
