November 2007 - Healthlink Launch New Website & Application - HealthlinkOnline Version 3

We are delighted to announce that the new release of our software will be made available to you today, 15th November. Following our user surveys we have improved the application and website based on your requests. When you logon you will see: 1. New look and feel to the Healthlink web site. 2. New Online web application look and feel. 3. Improved automatic download facility where the default path and the file name will be automatically entered into the Save As box. 4. Enhanced search facilities including - Search by Abnormal result and Search by Laboratory Discipline. 5. Practice Profile feature allowing email alerting to be configured for certain important messages; - Very High abnormal results - Death notifications - Referral / response messages. Message type configuration is also enabled as part of the practice profile system. 6. Incorporation of the Neurology Referral feature for all St Vincent's hospital users. 7. Online ordering feature for all Mater Hospital Users. The changeover will be automatic so you don't need to do anything to enable it.

We are also delighted to launch our new website which has been completely redesigned to coincide with the launch of HealthlinkOnline Version 3. Some features of the new site include enhanced navigation and accessibility, a new document download centre and a dedicated page (Services) for keeping you informed of planned new services such as Oncology Referrals or additional hospitals linking with Healthlink.

November 2007 - Healthlink exhibit at HISI 2007

Healthlink will again be present at the Annual Health Informatics Society of Ireland and are delighted to showcase the new application and it's features . Our stand will be located in the exhibition centre in the Stillorgan Park Hotel and our support team will be running demonstrations through out the day. We look forward to seeing you there!

September 2007 - New Healthlink and ShannonDoc Project

Healthlink and the ShannonDoc Co-operative, in conjunction with the HSE Mid-Western region have commenced a project to enable discharge summary messages from ShannonDoc to be made available to GPs via HealthlinkOnline Version 3. Work has commenced on this highly sought-after service and it is planned to be delivered to all Healthlink users in the region in early 2008.

June 2007 - Lab Results now live in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe

GPs who send lab tests to Portiuncula Hospital can now receive the results back on HealthlinkOnline. The disciplines currently available are Biochemistry, Haematology and Serology. Microbiology will follow soon. GPs who wish to avail of this free service should log on to and complete the application form. Portiuncula is the fourth hospital in the Western Area to go live with Healthlink.

June 2007 - Radiology Results live in Midwest & Western Areas

We are delighted to announce that GPs in the Limerick Regional, UCHG & Merlin Park, Galway catchment areas will now receive Radiology results in HealthlinkOnline. Both areas hope to work on additional message types in the near future.

GPs in south Dublin are being urged to join the online neurology waiting list initiative NeuroLink, a sub-service of the popular HealthLink which allows GPs to get laboratory and radiology results from hospitals in less than a day. February 2007 - HealthlinkOnline Live in Midlands

We are delighted to announce that GPs in the HSE Midland area can now receive Lab results on HealthlinkOnline. As a result we are inviting users of the Mullingar, Portlaoise and Tullamore labs to register with us for this free service. The go-live comes after months of hard work by the project team which included the group of pilot practices, members of the Primary Care Unit and the labs.

February 2007 - IT Brainwave Boosts Neurology Service (Dr. Brian Meade)

Ireland's problem with waiting lists for hospital outpatient visits and procedures is well publicised. With the shortage of neurologists in Ireland, the waiting time for neurology clinics have been among the worst in our health service. For patients on a waiting list, the worry and frustration must be enormous, particularly where there is concern about a neurological disease or cancer. The neurologists at St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin have teamed up with the National Healthlink project to find an electronic solution to the problem. This solution will ensure that those who are most in need are seen quickly, while those who just need advice or an investigation can access these without actually having to attend the outpatient clinic.
