December 2009- CUH Online Breast Referrals now open to Cork GPs

From Wednesday the 9th of December, GP's in the Cork region can now send a secure electronic referral to the Breast Unit in Cork University Hospital, with a guaranteed response time of five working days. To register please fill out an application form in the 'apply' section or call us on 01 8825720.


December 2009- Online Referrals to Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre

Starting Monday the 7th of December GPs can now send a secure electronic referral to the Mater Private Specialist Breast Centre via Healthlink. All referrals will receive a timely response from the consultancy team, the response will contain details of the patient's OPD appointment and the clinic which they will attend. There are currently three specialist Breast Consultants and five Breast Specialist Radiologists working in the Mater Private, all of whom also provide specialist breast services at either MMUH, BreastCheck or both.

We would like to encourage all GPs to avail of this service, which will help to streamline the referral process and ultimately benefit patient care. To register please call 01 8825720.

October 2009- Online Neurology Referral to Cork University Hospital.

Dr.Aisling Ryan & Dr. Brian Sweeney along with Healthlink, would like to invite all GPs in the Cork/Kerry area to avail of a new service wherby GPs can send a secure electronic Neurology Referral to the consultants in CUH, through Healthlink Online with a guaranteed response time of five working days.

October 2009- Online Breast Clinic Referral to Cork University Hospital.

We are delighted to announce the launch of a Breast Clinic Referral Pilot with Cork University Hospital. Using HealthlinkOnline, GPs from Kerry can send a secure electronic referral to the CUH Breast unit. All referrals will receive a response from the consultancy team within five working days. The response will contain details of the patient's OPD Appointment, the clinic which they will attend and a date/time of appointment.

We hope all GPs in the Kerry area will avail of this service. This service will be rolled out to all GP's in the Cork area soon. Please call 018825720 to register.


October 2009- Kildare DOC Co-Op messages go live in Healthlink.

We are delighted to announce that following a successful pilot, KDOC out-of-hours reports are now available on Healthlink. These messages can be downloaded into your patient files, saving a significant amount of admin time. We would like to invite all KDoc users to avail of this service. We would like to thank our pilot practices and the staff in KDOC for their support in this project.


September 2009- North East DOC Co-Op messages go live in Healthlink.

Following a successful pilot, NEDOC out-of-hours reports are now available on Healthlink. These messages can be downloaded into your patient files, saving a significant amount of admin time. We would like to invite all NEDoc users to avail of this service. We would like to thank our pilot practices, the staff in NEDOC and the HSE NE IT department Kells, for their support in this project.


July 2009 - Lab Order Live in St. James's

Following a successful pilot of our online Lab Order system, Healthlink and St. James's Lab are inviting all practices in the catchment area to avail of this service which allows GPS/Practice Nurses to order lab tests online, replacing the manual order form. Lab Order was introduced in the Mater Lab in 2006 and has proven to have numerous benefits including reduced clerical errors and improved turnaround on orders & results.

St. James's would like to encourage all Healthlink GPs to utilise online ordering going forward. The only requirements are a PC with internet connection and a printer. Full training is available from the Healthlink team. We would like to thank our colleagues in St. James's IMS Department and Lab for all their support in this project.


July 2009 - Radiology Reports Online from St. Michael's Hospital

St. Michael's Hospital are now sending Radiology as well as Lab results live on HealthlinkOnline. All GPs set up for St. Michael's will automatically receive these reports into their Healthlink accounts.


June 2009 - Online Breast Cancer Referrals to Beaumont Hospital

On Tuesday 30th June Healthlink and the NCCP launched a Breast Cancer Referral pilot with Beaumont Hospital. Using HealthlinkOnline, GPs from North Dublin, Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan can send a secure electronic referral to the Beaumont Breast unit. All referrals will receive a response from the consultancy team within 5 working days. The response will contain details of the patient's OPD Appointment, the clinic which they will attend and a date/time of appointment.

June 2009 - Healthlink Live in Cavan

We are delighted to announce that Cavan laboratory are now sending blood test results via HealthlinkOnline. Currently the disciplines of Haematology, Coagulation and Biochemistry are live with Microbiology and Histology to follow in the future. We would like to invite all GPs in the Cavan area to register with us and avail of this free service. Many thanks to the staff in the lab and the HSE NE IT department, Kells for their support in this project.


June 2009 - New Messages Online from AMNCH

We are delighted to inform GPs in the Tallaght area that the hospital are now sending three new messages online: Inpatient Admissions, Discharge Notifications and Death Notifications. We hope that this patient information will be beneficial to our users. All GPs will automatically receive them into their Healthlink accounts.


April 2009 - Radiology Reports live from St. Vincent's

St. Vincent's Radiology department are now sending test results live via HealthlinkOnline. Existing Healthlink GPs do not need to apply for this service, we can simply enable your account and you will notice these messages coming in alongside your other patient results. Other GPs in the catchment area can apply for online for a Healthlink account or contact us on 8287115.


March 2009 - WestDoc Co-op Messages Live in HealthlinkOnline

Out-of-hours reports are now available electronically to all users of the WestDoc service. These messages, like your lab & radiology results can be downloaded into your patient files, saving a significant amount of admin time. We are now inviting all WestDoc users to avail of this service, which will be rolled out on a phased basis. Please note practices will receive both electronic and fax copies for a defined period. We would like to thank the four pilot practices, the staff in WestDoc and Robert McDonald, HSE West for their support in this project.


March 2009 - Radiology Reports live from Nenagh

Following a successful pilot, Healthlink and Nenagh Radiology Department are delighted to announce that Radiology reports are available electronically in HealthlinkOnline. GPs in the area will receive these results automatically into their Healthlink accounts.

February 2009 - Launch of Prostate Cancer Referral Pilot

Mr Thomas Lynch and the Urology Team in St. James's Hospital, The National Cancer Control Program along with the Healthlink team would like to invite St. James's GPs to join the HealthlinkOnline Prostate Referral Pilot. Through Healthlink referrals can be sent electronically to Mr Lynch in a secure manner with a guaranteed response time of up to 5 working days.

To avail of this service, you must comply with the Criteria for Usage as set out by the National Cancer Control Program. Please review the document here and send a signed copy to us by fax 830 7728.


February 2009 - Lab Ordering and Result Reporting to Mater Agencies

Since August 2008 consultants and nursing staff in St Mary's, Phoenix Park have been ordering tests and receiving results back using HealthlinkOnline. This service has numerous benefits for both the Lab and St. Mary's who share the care of elderly patients in the catchment area. In February we expanded to a second Mater agency, Charter Medical who now place 100% of their test requests online. During 2009 we hope to introduce this service to additional sites such as St. Vincent's in Fairview.


February 2009 - Microbiology Live in Connolly Hospital

Following a successful pilot of Micro reports from Connolly Lab, we have released these messages live to all GPs registered with us in the Connolly area. We would like to thank the Lab staff, the Pilot practices and all those involved in the project for their help and support.


January 2009 - Neurolink in Limerick & the Mater

Within the first fortnight of 2009 we have launched Neurolink in two new Hospitals, the Mater and Limerick Regional. GPs in these areas can submit Neurology referrals online via their existing Healthlink accounts with a guaranteed response within 5 working days. We would like to thank Consultant Neurologist in Limerick, Dr. Peter Boers for his role in the project and likewise Drs. Timothy Lynch and Killian O'Rourke in the Mater.
